This notice explains how Signal SEO & Web Design - Houston ("we", "us", "our"), trading as Signal Studio, handles personal data. For the data described here we act as the data controller — we decide what is collected and why. Where you buy a plan, Paddle.com acts as Merchant of Record and is a separate controller of your payment and tax data.
1. What we collect and why
- Account data — name, email address, login credentials and workspace details, to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Content and project data — briefs, prompts, site copy, uploaded images, domains, keywords and client records you add, to generate and host your sites. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Usage and telemetry — pages viewed, builds run, credits consumed, device and browser information, IP address and log data, to operate the service, debug problems and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages — what you send us by email or in app, to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests / contract.
- Security and fraud signals — sign-in attempts, abuse and chargeback indicators, to protect the platform. Legal basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Marketing preferences — if you opt in to product emails. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Card numbers never reach our servers. Payment details are collected and processed by Paddle at checkout.
2. Who we share data with
- Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record for the sale of Signal Studio plans. Paddle handles checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds, and receives the data needed to do so.
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and database infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, and the AI model providers that generate your site content. They act on our instructions under confidentiality obligations.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where needed.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How long we keep it
Account, workspace and project data is kept for as long as your account is active and for 12 months after you close it or after prolonged inactivity, so you can recover work — after that it is deleted or anonymised. Support correspondence is kept for 24 months. Security and access logs are kept for 12 months. Transaction and tax records are retained for 7 years where required by law. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, subject to those legal retention duties.
4. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses with appropriate safeguards.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you may withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Email privacy@signalseowebdesign.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies for sign-in and session security, and limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will stop you from signing in.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, row-level access controls, least-privilege service credentials and audit logging. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this notice periodically and will post material changes on this page. Signal SEO & Web Design - Houston can be reached at privacy@signalseowebdesign.com.
